What you're agreeing to when you order, and where you stand if something goes wrong.

VATNot VAT registered — no VAT is charged on our prices

Send any return, cancellation notice or written correspondence to the address above. Please contact us before returning anything so we can tell you what to expect.

These terms apply to orders placed directly with us. If you buy through eBay or Whatnot, that marketplace's own terms and returns process apply to your purchase instead.

2. What we sell

We sell storage cases. We buy in a hard-shell outer case and design and 3D print a PETG insert to fit a particular format of coin, bar or blister pack. We do not sell bullion. Any coins or bars shown in our photographs are there to demonstrate fit and are not included.

Because each insert is printed to order, small variations in colour, surface texture and finish are normal and are not defects. Photographs are illustrative; screens differ, and printed colour may not match exactly.

3. Fit is your responsibility to check

Our inserts are cut for specific formats. Coin wells take most standard 40 mm coin slots. Bar channels are open through with foam padding on both sides, so they close on a range of bar sizes.

Capsule diameters, slabbed grades and packaging vary between mints and graders. If you are storing anything other than a standard 1oz coin or bar, please tell us the exact product before you order so we can confirm it fits — or cut you a custom insert. We cannot accept responsibility for a poor fit where you have not told us what you are storing.

4. How an order is made

Prices shown on this site are an indication, not an offer to sell. An order is formed like this:

  1. You send us an enquiry with the specification you want.
  2. We reply confirming the price, any custom work and the lead time.
  3. You confirm you want to go ahead.
  4. We confirm your order in writing — a contract is formed at that point, and not before.

We can decline any order — for example if we cannot source the shell, cannot achieve the fit you need, or the requested custom text is offensive, misleading, or infringes someone else's trade mark or copyright.

5. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in pounds sterling and include any applicable tax.
  • Delivery to the UK mainland is free, by Royal Mail 48. There are no additional charges at any point.
  • Custom engraving is a flat £5 per box, whatever the text says.
  • Prices on eBay and Whatnot are higher because they include those platforms' fees.
  • Payment is due in full at the point your invoice is generated, before we begin printing.

6. Delivery

  • Delivery is free to the UK mainland, sent by Royal Mail 48. Royal Mail aims to deliver within two to three working days of dispatch, but this is not a guaranteed service.
  • We dispatch standard builds the next working day. The Large Wessex 117 has a lead time of 4 working days. Custom colours and engraving add print time — we confirm the date when you order.
  • We deliver to the UK mainland only. If you are outside that area, contact us before ordering and we will quote separately.
  • Collection from Milton Keynes is welcome by arrangement.
  • Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or to someone you have nominated.
  • Delivery estimates are estimates. Where a carrier delays a parcel we will help you chase it, but we are not liable for a courier's delay.

7. Cancelling your order

If you are a consumer buying at a distance, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your goods, for any reason. You then have a further 14 days to return them.

Standard configurations — you can cancel

A box in one of our standard colours and finishes, with no custom text, can be cancelled and returned under that 14-day right. Return postage is at your cost unless the item is faulty. We refund within 14 days of getting the goods back, or of proof that you sent them.

Please return items in the condition you received them. We may reduce a refund to reflect any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to check the goods.

Personalised and bespoke builds — you cannot cancel

Regulation 28(1)(b) removes the right to cancel for goods that are made to your specification or clearly personalised. That applies where you have ordered:

  • custom engraved text on the insert; or
  • a colour outside our standard range; or
  • a bespoke insert cut to your own measurements or products.

Once we begin printing a personalised item you cannot cancel it and it cannot be returned, unless it is faulty or not as described. We will always make this clear to you in writing before you commit, and we will not start printing until you have confirmed the specification.

This does not affect your rights if the goods turn out to be faulty — see the next section.

How to cancel

Email info@mkbullionboxes.com, or write to us at 5 Deeping Gate, Stonebridge, Milton Keynes, MK13 0DE, with your name, order details and a clear statement that you are cancelling. You may use the wording below, but you don't have to:

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract of sale for the following goods: [description]. Ordered on [date], received on [date]. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Date: [today's date].

8. If something is faulty

Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected by anything on this page. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not:

  • Within 30 days you can reject them for a full refund.
  • Up to 6 months you can ask for a repair or replacement; if that fails, a refund.
  • Up to 6 years (5 in Scotland) you may still have a claim if the goods were faulty when supplied.

Email us with a photograph and a description and we will sort it out. We pay return postage on faulty goods.

9. What our cases can and cannot do

The outer case has a perimeter gasket, lockable latches and a pressure valve. It is designed to resist damp, dust and splashes. It is not a safe, it is not a security container, and it is not diving equipment. It is not certified to any waterproofing or security standard unless we have told you so in writing for a specific product.

Storing valuables is your responsibility. Please make sure your contents are insured. We are not liable for loss, theft, corrosion, tarnishing or damage to anything stored inside one of our cases.

10. Our liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for any of your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, and where you are buying as a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

Where you are buying as a business, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or any indirect or consequential loss.

11. Complaints

Email info@mkbullionboxes.com and we will acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to resolve matters within 14 days. If we cannot agree, you can get free advice from Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk.

12. Intellectual property

The MK Bullion name, logo, insert designs, photographs and the content of this website belong to us. You may not copy, reproduce or resell our insert designs or 3D models. Buying a box gives you the box, not the design.

If you ask us to print custom text, you confirm you have the right to use it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when we confirmed it.
